Almost all of this traditional Nokomis foursquare has been lovingly restored by its current owners - everything but the kitchen. When it came to the kitchen, they opted for professional help.
Our main objective was to open up the space to facilitate their frequent entertaining. During the design process, it became obvious that all of the appliances would be moved around to create opportunities to add storage, efficiency, and historically appropriate details.
The combination of rich cherry cabinets, granite countertops, and a polished glass tile backsplash reflects the owners' desire for a traditional space with contemporary flair. The custom buffet in the new dining area literally is the "cherry on top"! Along with the specially milled trim, these details really gauge the success of the project. We're pretty proud of this one. The before-and-after's are pretty amazing, don't you think?
