"What's for dinner?" a question that is on my mind at breakfast. Yeah, you could say I think about food a lot. A lot. So it's fitting that this month's Morph video highlights a couple of our unique street vendors. One afternoon at the Midtown Farmers' Market, and we experienced two unforgettable treats, one psychedelic, one heavenly.

The Magic Bus Café is a staple at Twin Cities' events and markets. Yes, it's a bus. A really trippy bus covered in flare and memorabilia from rockin' days of the past. The Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, or even The Lovin' Spoonful would be right at home. After a quick peruse of the menu, our team zoned in on the hot dogs. Hot dogs covered in chili and cheese, hot dogs that really are a meal and a half. Absolutely delicious! (See our live reactions on the video.) Magic Bus, highly recommended.

After that hearty meal, we had to top it off with dessert. And fried food. (I know, this is turning into an antacid commercial.) Perfect stop, Crazy Puppy Gourmet Workshop, home of fried delicacies and gluten-free treats. After a mouthful of State Fair quality cheese curds, with tangy, spicy ketchup, we were hooked. The chocolate mini donuts were pretty darn good too, and being gluten-free, a rare find.

These were only two stops in a Twin Cities' street food industry that's growing every day. You're sure to find them at Farmers' Markets, larger art events, and cruising Nicollet Mall over the lunch hour. I know this will not be Morph's last foray into street food. Someone told me about one that serves Ethiopian...

Local News: New South Minneapolis Greenway

The City of Minneapolis is slated to start construction on the New RiverLake Greenway later this month. The east-west route will connect Lake Harriet to the river via (mostly) 40th St. and will be 4 miles. Construction should be completed my Nov. 15th, 2010. Click for more info.
