Minneapolis Local Liah Bobo speaks with Metamorphosis about her all-natural bath and beauty company Simply Lavish and livin' in the twin cities. You can find Simply Lavish on Facebook, Twitter and on their etsy site: etsy.com/shop/SimplyLavishBath.

Morph: How did you first get into making natural bath products?
Liah: It was due to my own skin issues...such as eczema and very dry skin. These MN Winters can be cruel on certain skin textures! As a consumer, I just couldn't find anything at the retail stores or on internet that could accommodate my skin's needs )without giving me a rash, enflaming my eczema or even worse, drying my skin out). After going through so many products and feeling frustrated I came to the conclusion that if something was going to change it would begin with my family and I. After about 3 months of research and testing on my family and friends (thank you), I believe I've created a great product that will satisfy even the most sensitive skin.
Morph: We love the sugar scrubs...what is your favorite product?
Liah: I am very excited that you love our scrubs! We worked very hard to find two different scrubs (A Brown Sugar Scrub and Dead Sea Salt Scrub) that work for most everyone. My favorite product right now is our body butter. It looks very thick (because it is), but it absorbs quickly and provides deep moisture for the skin. (Including normal to dry skin or very dry skin like mine).
Morph: Where did the name "simply lavish" come from?
Liah: To be honest, I tossed around ideas about a name with my sister for weeks. I wanted the product to be simple, (meaning you did not have to use a lot of products to get great skin) and Lavish was how I wanted you to feel when you got out of the tub. Being all natural was a must. I had the Simply and she came up with Lavish and there you go!
Morph: Tell us about what you're currently working on... any new products on the horizon?
Liah: I am very excited about our bath oils, bubble bath, shower gels and Soy Massage candles! We will also be offering custom gift baskets starting in November!! The Soy Massage candles are coming the second week of October!

Morph: What neighborhood do you live in and what do you like about it?
Liah: Currently in South Minneapolis... I love the uptown area! My neighbors are friendly and quiet.....I LOVE THE SERENITY OF IT! It allows my creativity to awaken me in the middle of the night, (when ideas come that could benefit my clients). Before you know it, a new product is in the making. I can also walk my dog down the street and be greeted by everyone I pass, I love my area.
Morph: What are your favorite things about the twin cities?
bubble bath barsLiah: I'd say the unique diversity of the community! I love the "mixture" of the twin cities, the talents, ideas, tastes, view points etc., it brings about a richness... that perhaps a place like New York City has. I just think that a multi-cultural and diverse community affords us so many opportunities in which we can exchange and learn from each other. Whether through experiences, ideas, communication or cultural expressions, diversity enriches anyone with an open mind and a hunger to network with others.
Morph: If you could have dinner with one person, living or dead, who would it be?
Liah: That is such a hard question, I want to talk to so many people to pick their brains! But one person would be God.
Morph: We heard Simply Lavish is having a give-away right now... could you tell us about that?
Liah: Random winner Wednesday’s. We pick one person from our Facebook fan page (www.Facebook.com/simplylavishbathcompany) and send them a product just to thank them for being a Fan! That will be going on for the Month of October! Our winners are selected via www.random.org
Morph: Where can people find and buy Simply Lavish bath products?
Liah: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SimplyLavishBath. I hope whomever checks out the products, will find exactly what they need and to enjoy the results of each product!
